Asking the right questions

It wasn’t until JLL approached M&C Saatchi and asked the right questions to better understand their current and future business in Indonesia that the perfect location was found.

One of the world’s most recognized names in advertising, M&C Saatchi established their Indonesia office due to overwhelming demand from clients in Singapore and Southeast Asia. In 2018, when M&C Saatchi first established operations in Indonesia, they selected a shared co-working space to suit their requirements which was a fast and easy option for market entrants. They quickly grew and within one year the Indonesia operations could support a fully functional office and a move to a much larger space.

In advertising, and when winning new business, first impressions count. It was important to M&C Saatchi that their head office represented everything their brand is   – independent, modern, open and fluid.

Founder and President Director of M&C Saatchi Indonesia, Anish Daryani labored for months with other property consultants looking for a suitable location for their growing business.

“Within months of our launch, we had emerged as the country’s fastest growing agency. The demand we experienced gave us confidence that after one short year in the market we were ready to establish the proper HQ.” 

It wasn’t until JLL approached M&C Saatchi and asked the right questions to better understand their current and future business in Indonesia that the perfect location was found.

“We had a few considerations and expectations. Since we were growing we needed to attract and retain talent.” M&C Saatchi needed a location with proximity to shopping malls, transportation and centrally located. Many of M&C Saatchi’s clients are situated within Kuningan and Anish was keen to explore opportunities in this area.

JLL probed further. Business growth was not expected to slow down in Indonesia over the coming years. It would be critical for M&C Saatchi to find a space with expansion options, and a landlord with a vision who would be willing to negotiate flexible lease terms.

JLL was able to secure competitive commercial terms on a two-year lease with options for expansion within the same building. By understanding the client’s brand and growth potential, JLL helped M&C Saatchi secure a strong foothold in Indonesia.
